FAQ's

Everything you need to know about attending this year's festival!

Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, sunscreen or umbrella, reusable cups and an appetite for adventure. We’ll have plenty of great food options but you may wish to bring a picnic. Some people might also like to have bug repellant on hand.

If you are bringing lawn chairs and umbrellas, please be respectful of your neighbors and situate yourself in the upper portion of the lawn. This leaves the lower space clear so that those on blankets can enjoy a clear view of the stage too.

Please DO NOT bring pets (we love your furry friends, but the festival grounds need to feel safe and comfortable for everyone), alcohol (we’ve got you covered with great local breweries), glass containers, coolers, drugs & drug paraphernalia, weapons of any kind, or fireworks.

We love your furry friends, but the festival grounds need to feel safe and comfortable for everyone, so please leave them at home (yes, this includes goats, iguanas, and comfort peacocks too). Only registered service animals will be allowed through the gates.

BARBÉS In The Woods is a rain or shine event, so feel free to bring an umbrella or a poncho if it looks gloomy. We plan to dance regardless of weather. The festival will only be paused if there is lightning or severe, dangerous weather.

Gates open at 2PM and the music starts at 3PM. The lineup kicks off with a bang, so do your best to come early. The festival wraps up at 11PM and there is an afterparty at The Lady Killigrew in the Montague Book Mill.

While we don't provide camping onsite, there are several nearby campgrounds that you might enjoy. Check our lodging page for a complete listing of campgrounds and national forests.

Swimming is not permitted, however, you are welcome to dip your toes or wade in the lovely Saw Mill River, which winds through the property. The Montague Fire Department will also be on hand to spray you down if it's really hot (think of it as a grownup sprinkler).

There are two parking lots within walking distance of the festival and designated spaces for attendees with disability placards near the main gate. You can find maps and directions here.
