Mehrnam Rastegari is a well-established Iranian musician and film score composer, singer, violinist, and master Kamancheh player. She has been featured at some of the most prestigious music festivals around the world, including The Fajr International Music Festival in Tehran and WOMEX, in Tampere, Finland. She has scored closed to a dozen feature films and countless shorts. Since re-locating to NYC a few years ago, Mehrnam has been busy playing in a variety of contexts, including Chogan, her self-described “Middle-Eastern rock quartet” which she will be bringing to the woods. Chogan combines folk tunes and original compositions and includes Amit Peled (Habbina, Habbina) on electric guitar, Phillip Mayer (The band’s visit) on percussion and Sam Minaie on bass.
